The Ukrainians who have been brought home are aged between 35 and 66. They were detained by Russian forces during the occupation of Mariupol, in Kyiv Oblast's Bucha district and Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk oblasts.

Quote from Lubinets: "One Ukrainian was abducted from his own home by the Russians solely because his sons serve in Ukraine's Armed Forces. Another Ukrainian was abducted on his way to work, where he was heading on the day of Russia's invasion.

Among those released is also a volunteer who joined the Angels of Taira brigade in Mariupol in 2022. Taira [Yulia Paievska, a Ukrainian paramedic and volunteer] was detained together with him that same day, and we managed to bring her home earlier [on 17 June 2022 – ed.]."

Background: Ukraine brought 160 Ukrainian citizens back from Russian captivity as a result of the latest prisoner exchange with Russia a day earlier.
