Local residents reported that an electrical substation near the village of Nekrasivka in the Bakhchysarai district on the peninsula had likely been damaged – electricity was cut off there following the explosion.

A fire also broke out in temporarily occupied Melitopol following the overnight drone attack.

Power also disappeared in occupied Donetsk at around midnight.

Saldo confirmed a widespread power cut in the region in the morning.

"All districts of Kherson Oblast have been left fully or partially without electricity," he said.

Background:

  • On 26 June, a large-scale blackout was also recorded in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast, which was attributed to a failure in the energy system of neighbouring Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
  • Earlier, the Russian-controlled company Krymenergo announced the introduction of planned rolling power cuts and restrictions on the peninsula.
