Russian 2 July strike on Kyiv: 10 bodies recovered from destroyed apartment block, search operation completed – photos

Emergency workers have completed search operations at the nine-storey apartment building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district that was destroyed in the Russian attack on 2 July. Ten bodies have been recovered from under the rubble.

Details: The State Emergency Service said rescue operations are continuing at three locations in the Darnytskyi district affected by the large-scale Russian attack.

Emergency crews are dismantling unstable structures and removing construction debris from the damaged residential buildings.

Background:
- On the night of 1-2 July, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine using attack UAVs as well as air-, land- and sea-launched missiles of various types. Ukraine's air defences downed 524 of the 570 aerial assets launched, although 25 ballistic missiles and 12 attack drones reached their targets.
- Kyiv was the primary target of the attack. As of midday on 2 July, 27 people had been killed and nearly 90 injured.
- On 3 July, the State Emergency Service reported that three more bodies had been recovered from under the rubble of a destroyed residential building in the Darnytskyi district, bringing the death toll from the Russian attack to 30.
