Death toll from Russian overnight attack on Kyiv rises to two

Two people were killed in Russia's latest attack on Kyiv on the night of 7-8 July.

Details: According to Klitschko, the woman's body was discovered during efforts to extinguish a fire in a non-residential building in the Desnianskyi district.

In a comment to Ukrainska Pravda, the Kyiv City Military Administration said two people had been killed in Kyiv – one in the overnight attack, and another as a result of the daytime strike.

At the same time, the Department of Health has not confirmed this information. In its last report, one person was said to have been killed.

  • Residents of Kyiv heard explosions on the night of 7-8 July before an air-raid warning was issued. Earlier reports said one person had been killed and two injured.
  • A missile strike caused a fire at warehouse facilities in the Desnianskyi district.
  • In the Sviatoshynskyi district, an office building and warehouses caught fire. A separate blaze at a garage cooperative was later extinguished. Office buildings, trams and utility networks were also damaged.
