Vyshneve explosion: criminal case opened and dismissals to follow, Zelenskyy says
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that an ammunition depot belonging to one of the companies of Ukrainian Defence Industry (Ukroboronprom) exploded in the town of Vyshneve in Kyiv Oblast following a Russian strike, a criminal case has been opened and dismissals will follow.

Quote: "It's an absolute nightmare. There was an ammunition depot in Vyshneve. The Russians struck this depot. A large number of people were injured, a large number of casualties."
Details: Zelenskyy added that he has already received "all the information" from the security service, the Interior Ministry and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
"A criminal case has been opened. Those responsible will face criminal charges. And there will certainly be dismissals at Ukroboronprom, because the depot belonged to one of Ukroboronprom's companies," the president concluded.
Background:
- Russia launched a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine using attack drones as well as air-, land- and sea-launched missiles of various types on the night of 5-6 July. Ukrainian air defences downed 363 out of 419 aerial assets, while 29 ballistic missiles and 18 attack drones struck 34 locations.
- In Kyiv Oblast, nine people were killed and 58 injured as a result of Russia's attack. Nearly 500 residents were evacuated from Vishneve because of the risk of a secondary explosion.
- The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the facility in Vyshneve where repeated detonations occurred on 6 July does not fall under the management of or report to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- Zelenskyy said he expects security and intelligence services to carry out a detailed investigation into what happened in Vyshneve.
