Committee to Protect Journalists urges Ukrainian authorities to investigate attack on Ukrainska Pravda film crew

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has called on the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the attack on an Ukrainska Pravda film crew in Kyiv Oblast.

Background:
- On the evening of 9 July, an Ukrainska Pravda film crew was attacked by security guards at Edem Kyiv, a luxury hotel complex where Lviv businessman and former MP Ihor Kryvetskyi was celebrating.
- National Police spokeswoman Yuliia Hirdvilis said that following the UP journalists' report, Kyiv Oblast police entered data into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 171.1 – "Obstruction of journalists' lawful professional activities".
- In a comment to Ukrainska Pravda, Kryvetskyi denied that the attack could have been carried out by his personal security detail or security guards from Edem.
