Zelenskyy has not discussed Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi during calls with corps commanders, sources say

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has been holding online calls with corps commanders for two consecutive days amid massive protests, did not discuss Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi or any potential successors with them.
Source: two Ukrainska Pravda sources in the defence forces
Quote from one of the sources: "There was no discussion of political matters or appointments. They asked about military issues – the situation in our area of responsibility, the tactical and operational situation, supply problems, what is sufficient and what is lacking, personnel recruitment, ground robotic systems and drones."
Details: As far as Ukrainska Pravda is aware, this is the first time the president has held meetings with corps commanders in this format. Despite widespread speculation that Zelenskyy was effectively conducting a "casting" for the next commander-in-chief, Ukrainska Pravda's sources believe the calls were instead intended to "ease tensions" in society.
Background:
- On 17 July, Zelenskyy heard reports from defence forces combat commanders and announced a special meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief following the decision to replace the defence minister.
- On 18 July, Zelenskyy and Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the President's Office, held talks with commanders of the corps fighting on the most intense sectors of the front for a second consecutive day.
