Russians attack Sumy, killing three Nova Poshta drivers – photos

Three drivers for Nova Poshta, Ukraine's largest private postal operator, have been killed as a result of a Russian strike on a civilian facility in the city of Sumy.

Quote from Hryhorov: "A strike by a Russian jet-powered UAV on Sumy has claimed the lives of three people – Nova Poshta drivers. The Russians deliberately hit a civilian facility where people were present and working."

Details: According to Hryhorov, the bodies of two drivers were found at the epicentre of the strike. Another man, who had been evacuated by the police in a critical condition, died on the way to hospital. The men were aged 43, 53, and 48.

A massive fire broke out at the site of the strike. Due to the threat of further attacks, rescue workers were unable to work effectively and quickly deal with the aftermath of the strike.

Nova Poshta clarified that the Russians struck the vehicle yard of the company's sorting terminal. Three drivers employed by partner carriers were killed.

"The company is in contact with the families of the deceased workers and is providing all the necessary assistance. Sadly, there are also injured drivers. Their condition is stable and their lives are not in danger. We are ensuring the affected individuals receive the support they need. Efforts to deal with the aftermath are ongoing," the company said.

The company added that customers will be compensated for the declared value of any parcels destroyed in the attack.

"Nova Poshta has activated backup logistics routes and sorting hubs to minimise any possible delivery delays. Up-to-date information on the status of parcels is available via the mobile app and on the Nova Poshta website," the company concluded.
