Chernihiv observes day of mourning after Russian strike on supermarket killed two – photos

Chernihiv is observing a day of mourning on 27 July for the victims of Russia's daytime attack on an ATB supermarket on 26 July. Twelve people are still in hospital.

Details: The strike by Russian jet-powered drones killed two people: a 10-year-old child and a 23-year-old woman.

A further 25 people were injured, including four children. A 10-year-old boy is in hospital, as are two boys aged 11 and 17 and a girl who is almost two years old. In total, 12 people are still receiving hospital treatment, four of whom are in a serious condition, Chaus said.

Another drone had destroyed a vehicle service station and cars parked near the supermarket, he added.

Later, Russia struck an industrial facility, causing a fire.

Late in the evening, another drone hit a food processing plant, injuring a 48-year-old man who was taken to hospital.

Chernihiv Oblast Patrol Police have released bodycam footage showing the first minutes after the attack on the supermarket.

From the very first moments after the strikes, police officers worked alongside other emergency services to provide first aid, evacuate civilians to safety and help transport the injured to medical facilities.
