FT: Witkoff and Kushner agree to visit Kyiv for first time
US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner have reportedly agreed to visit Kyiv for the first time as part of efforts aimed at ending the war.

Details: The agreement by Witkoff and Kushner to travel to Kyiv emerged following the latest meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington.
The current negotiations represent a significant shift from the tensions that once characterised the relationship. In private conversations, Zelenskyy has attributed the change in Trump's view of the war and Ukraine's prospects to months of direct engagement between their advisers.
According to people close to both presidents, Zelenskyy's task was to convince Trump that supporting Ukraine is in the US interests and to appeal to the American president's desire to be associated with success – an argument that has gained traction in recent months.
The FT also notes that Trump has become more critical of the intransigence of Russian ruler Vladimir Putin and more favourably disposed towards Ukraine's battlefield successes, although some of his "America First" supporters are deeply sceptical of long-term support for Kyiv.
