Russia claims to have shot down 1,158 Ukrainian drones in one day

Russia's Ministry of Defence claims that its air defence shot down 1,158 fixed-wing Ukrainian drones over the past day.

Details: The Russian ministry also claimed to have destroyed six guided aerial bombs and one HIMARS rocket.

  • On the night of 1-2 August, Ukraine's defence forces struck the Saratov oil refinery, the Engels airfield, a fuel depot in Kaluga Oblast and a number of other Russian military facilities.
  • A fire broke out at a Wildberries logistics centre in the settlement of Novosemeikino in Russia's Samara Oblast following a drone attack. The company confirmed the fire and redirected the receiving and shipping of goods to other facilities.
