Ukraine hits Russia's ground relay stations and drone launch site in Crimea and occupied territories

Ukraine's defence forces attacked a number of Russian military targets on temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories and in Crimea on the night of 6-7 August, including a radar station, ground relay stations for drone control, a drone storage and launch site, a fuel and lubricants depot and a repair unit.

Details: The General Staff also confirmed strikes on two ground relay stations for the control of Shahed-type loitering munitions in Olenivka in Crimea and in Zaliznyi Port in Kherson Oblast.

In addition, Ukraine struck a Russian fuel and lubricants depot in the area of Melitopol and a repair unit of the Russian occupation forces near Yakymivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

As the General Staff notes, ground relay stations provide stable communications and transmission of commands between operators and strike drones, extending their range and effectiveness.
