Luxembourg contributes €8m to Ukraine Energy Support Fund

Luxembourg has contributed an additional €8 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its total contribution to €30 million.

Quote from Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal: "I am grateful to the Government of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency for their consistent support of Ukraine's energy sector. This additional contribution to the Fund will help continue providing energy companies with the equipment they need and further strengthen the resilience of our energy system."

Background:

• Earlier, Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheál Martin and Helen McEntee, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, announced a new €125 million assistance package for Ukraine in 2026. Of that amount, €25 million will be allocated to repairing and protecting Ukraine's critical infrastructure, with a particular focus on the energy sector ahead of winter.
• Denmark has also recently contributed over €10 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
