Drone explodes and crashes in Moldova

In Moldova's Ștefan Vodă district, an explosion occurred during the day on 9 August. Early reports show that a drone crashed on the site.

Details: According to the reports, the police received information about the incident at around 13:20. A fire broke out in dry vegetation at the site.

Preliminary reports indicate that wreckage of a combat drone was found at the scene.

Law enforcement officials said no one was injured in the explosion. Specialists from the police explosives and technical examination department were sent to the scene.

Background: On 5 August, wreckage of a Russian Geran-2 drone was found near the village of Văleni in Moldova's Cahul District.
