Russian drone enters Moldovan airspace again, likely jet-powered Shahed

A Russian UAV violated Moldovan airspace before flying back into Ukraine on the evening of 10 August during another Russian aerial attack on Odesa Oblast.

Details: According to the Moldovan army's Air Operations Service, at 23:41, radars detected an object approaching from the direction of the Ukrainian village of Stepanivka. It entered Moldovan airspace and flew over the village of Priozerne in the Slobozia district.

A minute later, the aircraft left Moldovan airspace and flew back into Ukraine north of Stepanivka.

The authorities said the aircraft's characteristics resembled those of a Geran-3, a jet-powered Shahed drone.

At around the same time, Ukraine's Air Force reported in its air-raid warnings that a jet-powered UAV was flying over Odesa Oblast near villages close to the Moldovan border.

On Monday 10 August, it was announced that the UAV that exploded in Moldova on Sunday 9 August was a new type of drone that had not previously crashed on the country's territory.
Following the incident, Moldova recalled its ambassador to Russia for consultations.
