Details: The incident occurred on the night of 17-18 August as Russian forces once again targeted civilians in the oblast. In the city of Kherson alone, Russia carried out several attacks using various types of strike drones.

One of the attacks was directed at a house in the centre of the city. The munition dropped by the drone flew through a window into the room where the boy was sleeping.

The boy's mother immediately took him to the nearest hospital. Their lives are not in danger, and police officers and volunteers are now arranging their evacuation.

"Law enforcement officers also removed the munition from the child's bed and documented the latest war crime committed by the army of the aggressor state.

Once again, we urge families with children to evacuate from areas that are being systematically attacked by the enemy. There are no limits to the enemy's cruelty," the police stressed.

Background:

  • On the night of 11-12 February, a Russian attack on Dnipro caused a fire to break out in a house and the ceiling collapsed onto a baby's cot. The baby had been taken out just in time.
  • Serhii, a neighbour of the family, said: "The baby started crying or something, so the mother went over and picked the child up. She took three steps away, and then the ceiling came down right onto the cot."
