Russian leader Vladimir Putin has acknowledged that Ukrainian strikes on industrial and logistics facilities are causing damage to the Russian economy, while continuing to insist that they allegedly have no critical consequences.

Quote from Putin: "It is clear that a whole range of factors affects the pace of economic growth, including external pressure and terrorist attacks on industrial and infrastructure facilities.
It is clear that there are no critical consequences from such attacks; there have not been any, and there cannot be any. But, of course, they do cause us damage. This is obvious; we understand, see and know this."
Details: He added that "we need to strengthen the country's sovereignty and improve efficiency both in the areas of defence and security and in the socio-economic sphere."
Background:
- At the end of June, following a series of attacks on Russian oil refineries and fuel shortages in many regions of Russia, Putin had claimed that the damage caused by these Ukrainian strikes was "not critical". Meanwhile, he said there was a need to increase the production of air defence systems to protect these facilities and improve the work of units tasked with shooting down drones.
- It was previously reported that Wildberries and other online marketplaces were asking the Russian government for hundreds of billions of roubles in aid.
