Details: The Taneko oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, was struck, followed by a fire at the facility.
Taneko can process up to 16 million tonnes of crude oil per year. It produces a wide range of petroleum products, including motor fuels and other refined products, and supports Russia's armed forces.
In addition, the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in Volna, Russia's Krasnodar Krai, has been hit. A fire has been reported on the site.
For reference: Tamanneftegaz is one of Russia's key oil terminals in the Black Sea region. The Taman transshipment complex has a capacity of up to 19.9 million tonnes of oil, petroleum products and liquefied hydrocarbon gases per year. The terminal handles the transshipment of oil and petroleum products from rail transport onto sea vessels and supports the logistics and fuel needs of Russian troops.
Information on the extent of the damage caused is being gathered.
