Drones have attacked the Russian city of Perm, home to the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery. Air defences are responding in the city and sirens are sounding.

Details: Russian Telegram channels reported that the oil refinery in Perm is the target of the attack. The city is located more than 1,500 km from Ukraine.

The Ministry of Territorial Security of Perm Krai confirmed the drone attack.

Local authorities said air-defences are responding to the UAVs.

Astra wrote that Bolshoye Savino airport has suspended arrivals and departures. Sirens are heard across Perm, while loud explosions are reported in some parts of the city.

Background: The Security Service of Ukraine successfully struck infrastructure at the Perm Oil Refinery (Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez), located over 1,500 km from Ukraine, on 29 July.

For reference: Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez is one of Russia's largest oil refineries, with a capacity of almost 13 million tonnes per year. It supplies fuel to both the civilian sector and the Russian military.
