Retired FSB major general found dead in Moscow after possible suicide – Russian media outlets

A retired FSB (Federal Security Service) major general, Igor Laptev, has been found dead in his apartment in Moscow, having possibly killed himself, according to Russian media sources.

Details: "Retired FSB Major General Igor Laptev has killed himself in Moscow... The 83-year-old took his own life in his apartment," Moskovsky Komsomolets reported.
A source told Izvestia that Laptev sustained a gunshot wound to the head. However, no official confirmation of suicide has been issued.
According to media reports, Laptev served in the FSB for many years, specialising in information security. He was also chairman of the board of directors of the Informtekhnika group of companies, which, Radio Svoboda reports, produces communication systems, including for federal government agencies and security services such as the FSB.
