Russia attacks Ukraine with Banderol missile drones and strike UAVs throughout day – Air Force

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with seven S8000 Banderol missile drones and 96 strike UAVs on 28 August, most of them targeting Kyiv.

Quote: "Throughout the day on 28 August (from 06:30 to 19:00), the enemy attacked Ukraine with seven S8000 Banderol and 96 strike UAVs (more than 70 of them were jet-powered). The enemy directed most of the drones towards the Ukrainian capital.

As of 19:00, around 10 jet-powered strike drones were in Ukrainian airspace."

Details: Early reports indicate that Ukrainian air defence shot down or jammed six S8000 Banderol missile drones and 73 strike UAVs during the day.

Background: Russia attacked Ukraine with 164 strike drones on the night of 27-28 August. Ukrainian air defence downed 137 Russian aerial assets.
