Russia launches 164 drones in attack on Ukraine, strikes recorded at 16 locations

Russia attacked Ukraine with 164 strike drones on the night of 27-28 August. Ukrainian air defence downed 137 Russian aerial assets.

Details: From 18:00 on 27 August, Russian forces attacked with 164 Shahed strike UAVs (half of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones launched from Oryol, Bryansk and Millerovo in Russia, as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.

The attack was repelled by Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from the Ukrainian defence forces.

The attack is still ongoing, with around 10 Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
