Attack on Ukrainian teenager in Łódź: police detain two Polish nationals
Police in the city of Łódź have reported the detention of two Polish citizens who attacked a 15-year-old Ukrainian at the Stawki Stefańskiego recreation area at the end of June. They have been charged with assault motivated by the victim's nationality.

Details: The incident began as a verbal altercation between two groups of people at the recreation area and ended with violence directed against the teenager.
The 15-year-old Ukrainian was walking towards his personal belongings left near a tree after getting out of the water when he was attacked because of his nationality by men unknown to him.
Witnesses immediately alerted law enforcement.
On 20 August, police detained a 17-year-old Polish citizen in connection with the case. He admitted to his involvement in the incident but stated he would only describe what had happened in the presence of a prosecutor.
On 28 August, officers from the Criminal Division of the Łódź Regional Police Headquarters detained a second suspect. Given that the 24-year-old man who committed the offence is a repeat offender, he may face a harsher sentence.
Both suspects have been charged with assault motivated by the victim's nationality. The incident was classified as a hooligan offence, which carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison.
