Russia attacks Ukraine with missiles and drones, air defence downs 141 assets
Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic and air-launched missiles, Banderol missile drones and other UAVs, around half of which were jet-powered, on the night of 1-2 September.

Details: Starting at 18:00 on Tuesday 1 September, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with:
- 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from temporarily occupied Crimea
- 2 Kh-59/69 air-launched missiles from airspace over the Black Sea
- 174 Shahed attack UAVs, around half of them jet-powered, S8000 Banderol missile drones, Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones launched from Oryol, temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Odesa and Kyiv oblasts were the main targets of the attack.
The aerial attack is being repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces.
Early reports indicate that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence had shot down or jammed 141 assets:
- 3 S8000 Banderol missile drones
- 138 Russian UAVs of various types.
Russian missiles and attack UAVs struck 16 locations and debris from downed assets landed at four locations. In addition, some Russian weapons failed to reach their targets, and information concerning them is being clarified.
The Air Force warned that the attack is ongoing, as some Russian UAVs are still in Ukrainian airspace.
