Russia has attacked extraction assets belonging to the Naftogaz group, Ukraine's largest national oil and gas company, sparking fires at the sites.

Details: Several Ukrnafta production facilities came under attack overnight: numerous strikes were recorded and fires broke out.

Employees were in shelters during the attack. There were no casualties.

"Damaged equipment has been shut down. Specialised personnel are assessing the consequences of the attack," the statement reads.

Background:

  • It was previously reported that part of the main and auxiliary equipment at the Odesa Combined Heat and Power Plant belonging to the Naftogaz group was damaged as a result of Russian strikes.
  • Russian forces once again attacked the Kherson Combined Heat and Power Plant with guided aerial bombs, completely destroying and disabling all the heat- and power-generating equipment that remained at the facility.
