- Earlier on 6 September, Zelenskyy said he had held a meeting with the negotiating team ahead of talks with the US president's representatives.
- Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, said Putin told the US envoys during Saturday's talks that he is confident his war aims will be achieved. The White House described the talks as "substantive" and announced that the next steps will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
