Details: Kushner stressed that special envoy Steve Witkoff had met with Putin "many more times" than he had, and described their meeting the previous day as "very constructive and substantive".
"We had not been here in six months to the region, and obviously we promised President Zelenskyy that we want to come to Ukraine the next time we went to Russia as well," he said.
Kushner said they discussed "many ideas that have not worked to date" with Putin.
"We really tried to think about what elements are needed for this durable peace that we have been talking about and what are the things Russia can gain from it, what are the things that Ukraine can gain from it, and what are the things that the world can gain from it. And it was a very good dialogue," Trump's envoy said.
He stressed that one thing he and Witkoff consider productive is to "go back to the trilateral format".
Quote: "We spoke with both parties, so hopefully we'll have progress on this very soon (…) There's a lot of new ideas we're putting forward that I think could be useful to that process, and hopefully we will be able to develop them".
Background:
