Russia attacks Ukraine with Iskander missiles, Banderol loitering munitions and 196 drones: 165 UAVs downed

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S8000 Banderol loitering munitions and 196 drones of various types since the evening of 8 September. Ukrainian air defence has destroyed 165 drones, but some hits have been recorded.

Quote: "As of 08:30, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 165 Shaheds, Gerberas and drones of other types. Hits by missiles and UAVs have been recorded at 23 locations and downed aerial assets (debris) have been found at four locations."

Details: Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

As of the morning of 9 September, the attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in the airspace.
