Zelenskyy and Norway's PM discuss Freyja anti-ballistic programme

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre have met with the heads of defence companies from partner countries.

Details: According to Zelenskyy, the main topic was the Freyja anti-ballistic programme, "which can provide Europe with integrated protection against air threats through the joint efforts of Ukraine, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom".

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Together with the leadership of FirePoint, Kongsberg, Weibel, Saab, Diehl Defence, Hensoldt, Thales, Safran, Sener, and Leonardo, we agreed on the specific steps leaders and government officials need to take at their level, and manufacturers and developers at theirs. We expect to see the first practical results."

• On 8 September, Zelenskyy recalled that work was underway on the Freyja anti-ballistic programme and expressed hope that the Americans supported the programme.
• Earlier, Zelenskyy expressed the view that a trilateral round of talks between the US, Ukraine and Russia could take place, although no decision on this has yet been made.
