Polish PM: Poland expects Russia may attack border crossing points with Ukraine

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated at a press conference in Slovakia on 10 September, amid Russian strikes on international crossing points with Ukraine, that Poland expects its own border crossing points may also become Russian targets.

Details: Tusk stated that Russia "has already resorted to provocative attacks on border crossings - for instance, in Moldova".

Quote: "We expect similar actions targeting border crossings with Ukraine in other countries, including Poland."

More details: Tusk also stated that he had received "a fairly precise report directly from the CIA regarding possible events in the coming months". He added that this report "coincides" with what he "has been saying and warning about for months".

"We must anticipate various scenarios; both Poland and all of Europe need to ⁠be prepared for different possibilities concerning the situation not only on the Russian-Ukrainian front but also along the EU's eastern flank," the Polish prime minister added.

The Orlivka border crossing point with Romania was temporarily suspended due to a Russian attack on the night of 5-6 September.
On the night of 8-9 September, Russian drones once again attacked border infrastructure on the border with Moldova, hitting the Starokozache-Tudora checkpoint – one of two key checkpoints on the Odesa section of the border between Ukraine and Moldova, near the Palanca checkpoint.
On 10 September, Moldova dismissed Russia's claims that the Tudora-Starokozache checkpoint on the border with Ukraine is allegedly being used for military logistics and was therefore targeted by Russian forces.
