Ukrainian-designed drones to be manufactured in Canada with General Dynamics

Ukrainian drone developer GreenTech Harvest has reached an agreement with Canadian defence giant General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada to jointly produce drones in Canada.

Details: The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The company reported that under the memorandum the two firms have established a framework for cooperation focused on Ukrainian-designed unmanned systems.

"By working together, we can combine that experience with our Canadian industrial and manufacturing expertise to help deliver capability where it is needed while strengthening defence cooperation between our countries," said Joel Houde, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada.

More details: According to Oleh Donets, Programme Director at GreenTech Harvest, the two companies aim to combine combat-tested drones with the Canadian firm's capabilities to produce systems and solutions that will strengthen the defence capabilities of both countries.

For reference: GreenTech Harvest is a Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned systems. The company is one of nine Ukrainian founding members of the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance, which the European Commission launched in July 2026.

In April, GreenTech Harvest agreed with the Dutch VDL Group to jointly manufacture drones at a plant in Born. This concerns the K4 Deepstrike attack drone and the Midstrike Plane Baton reconnaissance drone.

Background: In May, Ukrainian company Airlogix and Canadian manufacturer Sentinel Research and Development established the Airlogix-Sentinel joint venture to produce drones in Canada, with support from the governments of both countries.
