Belarusian leader Lukashenko decides to inspect his army again: Time has come to shake it up, including mobilisation

Self-proclaimed Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has announced another readiness inspection of his troops, saying the entire army needs to be "shaken up", including "mobilisation".

Quote from Lukashenko: "I've already put it in simple terms: the army needs to be shaken up, the time has come. The whole armed forces. We will check everyone. Up to and including mobilisation."

Details: Lukashenko said an artillery brigade is currently being inspected on his orders, after previous inspections of tank and motorised rifle units.

"We are doing everything as it would be done during war... We are preparing for war so that there is no war," the self-proclaimed Belarusian president claimed once again.

He also reiterated that Belarus does not intend to attack anyone because it would not be able to win a war.

Quote: "Some people here are trying to reproach us, saying we are supposedly about to attack someone tomorrow. I repeat once again: we are not going to attack anyone, we are pragmatists. We understand that if we were to attack someone – one of our neighbours, for example – it would be suicidal. We cannot win a conflict with the 'monsters' around us, the states along our perimeter. So why start a war, if we are being completely honest?"
