Russia attacks Ukraine with Zircon missiles and drones, hits recorded at 15 locations

Russia attacked Ukraine with two Zircon anti-ship missiles and 174 drones of various types on the night of 18-19 September. Odesa and Kyiv oblasts have been the main targets of the attacks.

Details: Russian forces launched two Zircon missiles from Kursk Oblast and 174 attack and decoy drones, including Shahed drones. Half of the drones were jet-powered.

As of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 141 aerial assets: three Banderol/Dan-T drone missiles and 138 UAVs of other types.

Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at 15 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at nine locations.

The Air Force said that both Zircon missiles failed to reach their targets and that the locations where they fell are being determined.

As of now, the attack is still ongoing, with several Russian UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.

Background: On 18 September, Russian forces struck Sumy with guided aerial bombs, hitting a high-rise residential building, killing two people and injuring eight others, including two children.
