Zelenskyy meets Macron in New York to discuss air defence and energy security

At a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of France Emmanuel Macron in New York, security and a winter support package were among the key topics discussed.

Details: As noted by the Ukrainian president following the meeting with Macron, Ukraine is prepared to secure additional SAMP/T air defence systems and missiles for them using financial capabilities within the framework of the EU loan.

Quote: "We continue working on the possibility of producing these air defence systems and missiles in Ukraine, as well as on the joint FREYJA anti-ballistic programme with our partners. We expect to see the first results this year. We are doing everything we can to strengthen the protection of our people."

• Meanwhile, Macron discussed with US President Donald Trump initiatives for a mutual moratorium between Ukraine and Russia on strikes against energy infrastructure.
