US President Donald Trump has urged Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to end Russia's war against Ukraine in a brief comment to journalists after arriving for the UN General Assembly in New York.

Details: Trump briefly stopped to speak to journalists as he arrived for the session and was asked what message he has for Putin.

"Settle the war!" Trump replied.
