Russian forces attack Kiliia in Odesa Oblast, damaging port and civilian infrastructure

Russian forces attacked the city of Kiliia in Odesa Oblast with strike drones on the night of 26-27 September, hitting port and civilian infrastructure.

Details: The district administration reported that port and civilian infrastructure facilities in the city of Kiliia came under Russian attack.

Early reports indicate that no one was injured in the attack. A fire that broke out at the site of the strike has been extinguished.

Background:

• On the night of 21-22 September, another Russian attack damaged a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse in Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast. Special temperature-controlled facilities where medicines were stored were damaged.
• On the night of 22-23 September, the Russians attacked a commercial cargo vessel sailing under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda in Odesa Oblast. The vessel was carrying vegetable oil. The strike caused a fire on board and killed the ship's captain, a 63-year-old Ukrainian citizen.
• In addition, on Wednesday 23 September, Russian forces struck warehouse sites in Odesa Oblast twice. The warehouses contained medicines, food and industrial goods, and the attacks caused large-scale fires.
