Poland proposes locating a plant for manufacturing Patriot missiles on its territory
Poland is ready to host a factory producing interceptor missiles for Patriot air defence systems on its territory, particularly if Ukraine obtains the manufacturing licenses.

Details: According to Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Poland is offering to locate the plant on its territory so that the facility remains in a relatively safe area. Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that US President Donald Trump had ultimately agreed to grant Ukraine a licence to manufacture Patriot interceptor missiles.
Sobkowiak-Czarnecka said that they will see if this happens. Poland proposed that if construction of such a plant is planned in Ukraine, its government offers to build it in Poland so that it is located on so-called safe territory.
At the same time, Poland has also submitted an application to host a Patriot system service centre on its territory and, in the longer term, a plant producing interceptor missiles for them. According to Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Poland's application is not connected to and will not be cancelled by the granting of a missile production licence to Ukraine.
Background:
- Earlier, Ukrainska Pravda reported that the US government is prepared to authorise the transfer of 10 interceptor missiles for Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine, initiated by the German government.
- In addition, Ukraine is signing contracts for the supply of around 1,000 missiles for Patriot air defence systems, Defence Minister Yevhenii Khmara stated in early September 2026. Future missile deliveries will take time, making it necessary for Ukraine to receive missiles from its partners' existing stockpiles before winter.
