Moldova reveals new details regarding drone explosion incident

The Moldovan Police General Inspectorate has released new details regarding a drone explosion on Moldovan territory on the morning of 30 September.

Details: According to Moldova's General Inspectorate of Police, the drone exploded at an altitude of 40 m above the ground after striking a telecommunications mast. A 12 m section of the antenna structure showed signs of an explosion, including metal deformation and thermal damage.

Furthermore, several pieces of debris from the unmanned aerial vehicle – including structural elements, control systems, power supply systems and propulsion units – were found within a radius of approximately 265 m.

Law enforcement officials emphasised that the incident did not disrupt communication services.

Police technical and bomb disposal experts are currently conducting a detailed site inspection at the site of the drone explosion.
