Russian attack damages Dovzhenko Film Studio for third time

The National Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio has been damaged for the third time as a result of a Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of 6-7 October.

Details: The ministry said that debris from a Russian missile had fallen on the film studio, piercing the roofs of the sixth and seventh sound stages. A fire broke out at the site, which has since been extinguished.
There are no casualties at the studio. A commission is currently inspecting the damaged buildings and assessing the damage caused.
This is not the first time the film studio has suffered from Russian strikes. In early summer, on 2 and 15 June, two missile hits damaged 18 buildings, utility networks and cultural heritage sites on its territory.
That attack damaged the Main Sound Stage, built in 1927-1928, office and laboratory buildings, the Shchors Building (the Film Factory Museum), service buildings, special-effects workshops, a canteen, an electrical substation, a film library, student accommodation and other structures. Some of these are designated nationally or locally as significant monuments of the history of science and technology.
The greatest losses were caused by a direct hit on the costume department, which housed one of Ukraine's largest collections of stage and film costumes.
This included a collection of footwear and hats from various periods, as well as a significant number of military uniforms from the First and Second World Wars, the studio's director general said.
Some unique items were saved because they had been held in museums and at exhibitions.
In July, emergency repair work began at the film studio.
