Ukraine's Energy Ministry warns of possible emergency power cuts following Russian attack
Emergency power cuts may be applied in certain Ukrainian oblasts following Russian strikes on energy infrastructure if the situation in the power system deteriorates.

Details: Hourly power cuts ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 queues Ukrenergo defines a "queue" as a group of consumers and businesses using a specific amount of megawatts. The Dispatch Centre sets the number of queues needed across oblasts to address energy deficits. Critical infrastructure and eligible industrial companies that import at least 60% of their energy cannot be disconnected, according to a Ukrainian Cabinet resolution and capacity restrictions for industry and business are currently in effect in some regions.

- On the night of 6-7 October, the Russians launched a massive attack on Ukraine using various air attack weapons. According to the Air Force, air defence brought down 161 aerial assets.
- An air-raid warning was issued in Kyiv and most Ukrainian regions due to the threat of strikes by ballistic weapons. Explosions were heard in Kyiv and Dnipro.
- Some consumers in Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, Kherson, Poltava and Chernihiv oblasts have been left without electricity following the massive Russian attack, which hit energy infrastructure in some areas.
