Details: At around 04:00, a message appeared reporting a power supply disruption in the ru-central1-a availability zone: "There are power supply disruptions in the ru-central1-a availability zone. The team is working to resolve the issue. We will keep you updated on our progress."

The ru-central1-a zone in Yandex Cloud is physically hosted at Yandex's own data centre in the Energetik neighbourhood of Vladimir. The first site began operating in 2017. In March 2026, the company launched a new 40 MW data centre nearby, designed to accommodate 2,800 server racks.

A major outage has been reported across Yandex Cloud availability zones. The disruption has affected Yandex Home, Yandex Music and Telemost, as well as the entire range of Yandex Cloud infrastructure services.

Earlier, a drone threat was declared in Russia's Vladimir Oblast.

Meanwhile, Exilenova+ posted videos showing a drone attack on Vladimir and reported that the Yandex data centre was under attack.

Later, Telegram channels reported a fire following the attack on the Yandex data centre in Vladimir.

"Yandex's data centre in Vladimir has been completely shut down as a result of a drone attack. No one was injured," the company said.

Update: On Sunday morning, Alexander Avdeyev, governor of Russia's Vladimir Oblast, confirmed that a drone had struck an "infrastructure facility" near Vladimir, causing a fire. He added that residents of nearby buildings had been evacuated.

Background:

  • Yandex previously reported a fire at its data centre in the city of Sasovo in Russia's Ryazan Oblast following a drone attack. The fire affected part of the infrastructure. The company later warned that it could not "confirm whether the equipment at the Sasovo data centre could be repaired".
  • Part of the infrastructure at Yandex's data centre in Kaluga was also damaged in a drone attack.
