Details: Sandu stated that only EU accession can guarantee Moldova's security and allow every community to preserve and develop its culture.

Quote from Sandu: "When a drone fell in Etulia, a predominantly Gagauz district, it did not ask what language people spoke. Just like the drones that exploded between Ceadîr-Lunga and Valea Perjei or in Crocmaz. We all share the same concerns, and we want the same thing: to know that our children are safe and to live in peace."

Details: Sandu noted that joining the European Union means "security, more opportunities for development and a guarantee that every community will be able to preserve and promote its culture".

Background:

  • The Moldovan Ministry of Defence reported that since the beginning of the year, 63 cases of unauthorised UAV flights have been recorded in Moldova, 15 of them in October alone.
  • On the night of 15-16 October, five drones from the direction of Ukraine flew into Moldova for a few minutes. Closer to the evening, another drone violated the country's airspace and exploded in a field.
  • The Moldovan Foreign Ministry has condemned the repeated violations of the national airspace.
