Quote: "As Trump continues to bend to Putin, he is putting Ukraine at greater risk in its fight for freedom by restricting access to the technology Ukraine uses to intercept Russian missile attacks, putting untold Ukrainian lives at risk and undermining Ukraine's ability to defend itself.

We are demanding answers from SpaceX about who ordered these restrictions and why."

Background:

  • Axios previously reported that the White House had denied any involvement with the restrictions on the operation of the Starlink satellite system in Ukraine, saying that it does not control SpaceX.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Elon Musk's decision to restrict Starlink's functionality for Ukraine was a mistake that would result in human losses.
  • Zelenskyy also mentioned that he would discuss intelligence sharing and access to Starlink with UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
