Encircled Izyum restores water supply and mobile service, the wait for a “green corridor” continues

The town of Izyum in the Kharkiv region, which has remained under destructive artillery fire for several days, restored water supply and mobile service and is laying the ground for the establishment of "green corridors."

According to Matsokin: "We have passed on the information about [setting up] "green corridors." We are waiting for humanitarian aid! Restoring the electricity supply. We have restored water supply and mobile service. Ukrtelekom [Ukraine’s telephone operator, also Internet and mobile service provider] is functioning, for those who still use it. We are still working on restoring the supply of gas. We have internet thanks to Ukrtelekom. Bread factories have electricity.
I ask you to already go to bomb shelters, basements, other shelters, today, right now."
Details: Synehubov added that units of the Russian occupying forces were surrounding Izyum and trying to contact Izyum’s local authorities.
At the same time, the head of the region gave assurance that no one [in the local government] was going to negotiate with the occupying troops, and that local authorities will not establish contact with them.
Background:
- On 4 March, part of Izyum was left without gas supply due to the Russian occupiers’ combat action.
- The Russian occupiers are intensifying their shelling of Izyum by aircraft and missiles.
- On the night of 3 March, the Russian occupying forces struck at the Izyum civilian population, killing at least 8 people, 2 of them children.
