Fire truck and personnel blown up by explosive device

A fire truck carrying personnel was blown up when driving over an explosive device in the Kyiv region as it was returning from the scene of a fire, injuring 8 emergency responders.

According to the State Emergency Service: "On 19 March, while driving from the scene of a fire to the fire truck water filling station on the road towards the village of Novi Petrivtsi, a fire truck carrying personnel was blown up by an explosive device. As a result of the explosion, 8 emergency responders from the Vyshgorod Regional Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were injured". 

Details: The State Emergency Service reported that the emergency responders are in hospital with injuries of varying degrees of severity.

All have been provided with the necessary qualified assistance.
