"However, a large number of military personnel and some commanders refuse to take part in the occupation against our state, according to available information."

Details: General Staff notes that the military-political leadership of Belarus continues to provide the Russian army with comprehensive support in the use of airfields, transport network, and some health care facilities.

The Ukrainian establishment emphasises that in this way Belarus is an accomplice in crimes against the Ukrainian people.

Background

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated that there is a high threat of a Belarusian troops entering the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia. ‘Ukrainska Pravda’ interlocutors in law enforcement agencies confirmed this data collected by Ukrainian intelligence, but assured that the Belarusian military has no experience in conducting hostilities and has low morale.

The self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has already drawn Belarus into the Russo-Ukrainian war by providing Russian forces with military facilities in Belarus.

On 12 March, Belarus announced that five battalion tactical groups would be sent to the border with Ukraine to replace the military personnel while denying that this was preparation for entering the war on the Russian side, and calling it "rotation."

Journalists and activists in Belarus are constantly recording the movement of military equipment, including infantry fighting vehicles and tanks, as well as trucks carrying Iskanders – a mobile short-range ballistic missile system.
