Details: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explains that the Russian occupying forces are continuing to forcibly deport people from Ukraine, including children. These include orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children whose parents have died in the war.

Therefore, there is a danger of Ukrainian children being illegally adopted by Russian citizens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is concerned that the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Education intends to sign "agreements" with the separate districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions (temporarily occupied by Russians), which would allow the transfer of orphans illegally deported from Ukraine to Russian families.

According to the Foreign Ministry, such actions on the part of the Russian occupiers qualify as abduction and require a decisive reaction from the international community and the relevant international organisations.
