Chernihiv region: a tractor driver killed by Russian mine

On 13 April, a tractor with a trailer hit an anti-tank mine in the village of Nova Basan, Nizhyn district. The driver died on the spot.

Details: According to police, a 42-year-old local resident was removing garbage using a tractor. Returning to the village through the field, he came across a site mined by Russian soldiers and ran into an anti-tank mine. He died as a result of the explosion.
During the inspection of the territory, another mine was defused at the same site by the explosives experts of the State Emergency Service.
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office the police are initiating criminal proceedings based on this fact under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).
