Against the backdrop of yet another ultimatum of the Russian Federation to the defenders of the city, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that the fate of Mariupol may become a red line in the talks between Kyiv and Moscow.

Dmytro Kuleba noted that there had been virtually no contact between the two countries at the Foreign Ministry level in recent weeks.

"The only level of contact is the negotiating team, which includes representatives of various institutions and members of parliament. They continue consultations at the expert level, but there is no high-level contact," said Dmytro Kuleba.

British intelligence reports that the persistent resistance of Mariupol creates problems for the Russian Federation on other fronts by forcing the refocusing of troops and effort to the city.
