Quote from Peskov: "No, we don’t see any likelihood of that."

Details: The British journalist had asked whether Putin was worried he might end up in the dock at a war crimes tribunal.

Background:

  • European Parliament deputies voted in favour of a resolution on 7 April in which they called for a special UN tribunal to be set up to investigate war crimes committed against Ukrainians.
  • Recognised authorities on international law are working on establishing a special tribunal to convict and punish Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin elite for the war against Ukraine. Their idea is backed by two former UK prime ministers, Gordon Brown and John Major.
